Immersion and dual language education continue to evolve as highly effective program models for launching students on the road to bi- and multilingualism and intercultural competence. School-based immersion, bilingual, and dual language programs involve a minimum of 50% subject-matter schooling through a second, world, heritage, or indigenous language at the preschool and elementary levels (PreK–5/6). Secondary or post-secondary continuation programs for elementary immersion/dual language graduates include a minimum of two subject courses.

ATDLE will be hosting the 24th Annual Two-Way Bilingual Immersion conference in Sacramento, CA on June 27-29, 2016 at the Sacramento Convention Center in Sacramento, CA. Two-Way and Dual Language educators from throughout the U.S. will gather in June to share practices, study, review current research and network in an effort to build programs of excellence. Over 1400 TWBI/Dual Language teachers and administrators attended last year's conference and made the three days a wonderful learning experience! Last year's conference closed mid-June so don't wait and register early! Discounted registration price for teams of 10 or more...come with your colleagues!

Food & Eateries: Located inside the Convention Center at the west end are Starbucks and APIZZA. Across the street on both sides of the hotel on J Street and K Street are multiple delis and eateries that cater to the lunch crowd. You will need to grab breakfast and lunch on your own on Monday.
